Los Lonely Boys, the Grammy-winning pop and rock group gifted a cheque of $10,500 in order to support and promote the full Grammy Camp Scholarship for eligible and qualifies Texas-based applicants for three years. It was reportedly announced during the San Antonio tour on July 30th. Thus, scholarships will be awarded for 3 continuous years from 2016 and this scholarship will be valid at any of the residential locations of the camp.
The Los Lonely Boys are an American Chicano rock power trio from San Angelo, Texas. Los Lonely Boys have made their debut in 2004 with “Heaven” and won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance. Since then these groups have reached the sky with several achievements. They are currently in the midst of a US tour. They play a style of music they call “Texican Rock n’ Roll,” combining elements of rock and roll, Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country, and Tejano. The band consists of three brothers: Henry (guitar, vocals), Jojo (bass, vocals), and Ringo (drums, vocals) Garza.
The high school students selected for this scholarship shall be given a chance for an interactive residential summer music experience. The students get a chance to learn from eminent professionals of the industry in a creative environment with ultimate technology.
David Bowie died on January 10, 2016
On 10 January 2016, two days after the release of the album Blackstar on his 69th birthday Bowie died from cancer at his New York home. He is one of the most prominent recording artists of all time. He was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter, and actor. He won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in multiple musical genres, and starred in several films, including “Labyrinth.”
He died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. He just released his last album last week, I guess he couldn´t let go before. He is a true artist. I hope he died a happy man, even if cancer is a very sad way to leave the world. At least, he was able to express himself through the arts he so obviously loved. I adore him for his music and most of all, the way he always reinvented himself and always found ways to keep himself inspired till the very end.
