The Real Cause of ADD/ADHD

The Real Cause of ADD/ADHD

I received this info right from the horse's mouth, so to speak...actually, it came from a Pa. state physician.

Upon handing this doctor the school form that requested my then 9 yo. son be evaluated for ADD/ADHD, I asked the question "What causes this disorder?". She stealthfully closed the door, and began to explain the following:

The body reacts to toxins it is exposed to while going through the process of adapting to them. When matter is absorbed or ingested, the body recognizes them and distributes accordingly. However, when unfamiliar substances enter, it doesn't quite know what to do with them, so it stores them until such time as it can realize a use, or a way to eliminate. Familiar substances that cannot be used right away, but might be used at a later time, are stored in fats. Unfamiliar substances are stored in cartilege masses, often at the base of the brain & spine, and in between joints. Unfortunate to this procedure, is that joint cartilege is more often used/moved about and these toxins are constantly being reinstated into the blood stream, and are returned because the elimination process has not recognized how to dispose of them.

"Okay, and thanks for the anatomy refresher...what kinds of toxins are we talking about that has this effect on our kids, especially the males???" And she continued:

We are seeing that most boys between the ages of 7 thru 12 are most suseptible to the effects of chemical/artificial additives from their food sources, probably due to the fast rate of development during this time. These toxins include artificial sweeteners, colors, and preservatives that are in most foods that are targeted for children--their cereals, candies, drink mixes, snack foods, etc., and, to mention, these ingredients are high in most public school foods. Add this to those found in most processed family foods, and you have a dangerous cocktail of chemicals & heavy metals constantly running throughout an already energetic body. Do you imagine that no reaction/consequences would occur because of this???

"UGH!!! What's a Mom to do???" And she softly replied:

Get contractor garbage bags, open your pantry & refrigerator doors, and dump anything in them that contains what we've discussed. Let your child(ren) assist in this project and explain why you are throwing away their favorite yummies. Yes, you may find this an expensive lesson, but one you will hopefully only need learn once.
Read your labels!!! If you can't read it, don't eat it!!! If there is more than one refined sugar within the first 5 ingredients, don't bother with it, either--total garbage, non- food. Take this attitude on every shopping trip.
Upon changing your child's and your family's diet structure away from as many of these chemicalized, processed substances, you should see a turn around in many emotional and physical ways in as little as 2 weeks. Wait until after that 2 week period before "once-in-a-blue-moon treat" reintroduction is allowed, if at all.

What she said made too much sense not to follow thru, which I did. And I thought I was a pretty good consumer, but truly wasn't watching how many of my once trusted sources were changing their "recipes" to include these bio-hazzards, as I call them.

Now, at the time, I was also a studying herbologist, and one of my homework assignments was to make this calmative elixir that was especially for children in trauma. I added my concoction as a twice daily supplement. And YES!!! Just 2 weeks after this revamping project, I got a call from the school nurse asking that I provide my son's Ritilin information for her records. There was a long pause of silence when I informed her that he was on no such drug, nor any prescription for that matter. She seemed more than amazed, but gladfully told me that my son had done such a wonderful 180-degree turn-about, that she simply assumed he was on Ritilin. I never dealt with this situation again.

A bit of added info, because I can never leave well enough alone...I'm a compulsive researcher--I love digging into the muckiest of dirt. I visited this doctor again after the nurse call, to thank her for her wisdom sharing, but had to ask why most other parents were not aware of this simple solution. She replied that due to "policy", she could not volunteer such information unless the guardian specifically asked the question that I did. And that most people will not change their diet no matter what consequences are put to them, which keeps the supply/demand going...a quick-fix pill is what they want, even if it comes with more consequences than they started with. I was floored!!! And a bit raged about the "policy" thing, since I just couldn't be the only one seeking truths.

Sooo, deeper I went. I further discovered that in a 3 block radius of my home, where 12 boys lived, 8 of that 12 were on Ritilin--floored again!!! Digging deeper, I found that because of state funding cuts, schools were actually being encouraged to cite parents with these evaluation forms, because funds were available if they were indeed put on a prescription drug, since they could then be considered "handicapped". Can you believe this??? Talk about a system, profession, and industry running amok...on our kids, no less!!! And, yes, to mention that in my trek, I was greeted by 4 zombified Moms who admitted to being on one kind of anti-depressant or another...but that's another research project of it's own with another big UGH!!!

And there you have it folks!!! Reality Bytes!!! (pun intended--lol) Knowledge is power, and for many of you beloved Guardians of Our Future, I highly suggest "getting into the dirt", with your kids, instead of being happy they can sit for 6 hrs. a day. I hope the sales of contractor bags goes way up, and renewed consumer knowing brings "real" back to the grocer shelves and into many more homes.

In Love & Good Journey!!!

ADD/ADHD--CrackerJack

Hey, Jack!!! Especially with the constant breakouts of bio-hazardous fresh foods these days. I'm really thinking of going into the personal green-greenhouse construction biz, so anyone can grow their own freshies all year.
Love your quote!!! Thanks!!!

Good Journey!!!
