Take a look in the mirror. Are you happy with the way your teeth look? If not, don’t assume that nothing can be done. There are a number of dental procedures and strategies that can correct just about any issue.

You already know about solutions like fillings and veneers. Here are a few other options that may be right in your case. If so, discuss them with your dentist and see what can be done.

Teeth Whitening

Maybe you’re generally happy with the condition of your teeth. The primary issue is that they aren’t as white as in the past. That can come about due to drinking beverages or consuming food that stains the teeth. It can also be the result of using tobacco products.

Teeth whitening under the care of a dentist can reverse the problem. Under these supervised treatments, it’s possible to see a change in less time than any over the counter product could produce.

Teeth Straightening

The ability to have the teeth straightened does not end with the pre-teen years. If you’re an adult and have teeth that are not perfectly aligned, there are solutions. One of them is the same type of braces that kidswear. These metal braces are effective, but they can be a distraction for adults.

Invisible aligners are a great solution. You can invest in a set of invisalign aligners and use them to gradually straighten the teeth. Many adults find that wearing the clear aligners for a period of two years or less will produce the desired result.

Dentures

The day may come when a few or all of the teeth have to go. If you’re facing this type of situation, talk to your dentist about some sort of tooth replacement option. Partial or full sets of dentures may be just what you need.

Partials are held in place by anchoring to the surrounding teeth. Full sets are configured to fit over the gums and remain in place with the use of dental adhesive. You remove the denture plates at night, allow them to soak in a cleaning solution, then rinse them in the morning. A fresh application of an adhesive before placing them over your gums again is usually sufficient to keep them in position for the entire day.

Dental Implants

You may also be a candidate for one or both types of dental implants. Individual implants basically fill in space where each individual tooth used to reside. A solution known as All on Four implants involves inserting four implants in the upper and lower gums, then affixing dental plates to those sets of implants. Your dentist will be happy to tell you to learn more about all-on-four implants and how they compare to the individual ones.

There are other dental care options that can improve the look of your teeth. Start by undergoing a full dental checkup. This will allow the dentist to identify what it would take to restore the look and the health of your teeth, or if they need to go completely. Once you know what needs to be done, it will be easier to decide which treatment or series of treatments would be best.
